Cafe Tiramisu – Bon Giorno – Don’s Delectable Delights

Cafe Tiramisu Sign LabelOk, how is it that I’m cluttering up my perfectly good real estate blog with information about a restaurant?  Good question.  Well, first of all because several of you have asked me to.  Secondly, because restaurants are part of the amenities that we enjoy as adjuncts to our real estate here in the bay area.  And thirdly, I only plan to mention a restaurant if it seems to really deserve it….  Café Tiramisu on Belden Place in San Francisco is just such a circumstance.

Cafe Tiramisu Dining AreaBy show of hands (or by leaving a comment) how many have had the pleasure of enjoying lunch or dinner on Belden Place in San Francisco.  If I blindfolded you and took you there you’d swear you were in Europe.  No doubt about it.  Even though it is located in the heart of San Francisco, on a little alley (Belden Place) parallel to Kearny and a block from California St., you feel as if you were in the middle of a quaint European town (until you look up at the 52 story Triple 5 Cal – Bank of America Center- towering over you at the end of the street).  Check out the pictures and website for details.  Tables are available outside in the open air under umbrellas or inside.  Charming waitstaff sport authentic sounding Italian accents.  Definitely not to be missed.

And the food is fabulous, too.  I enjoyed an early lunch with a client today.  We shared Zucchini Blossom Stuffed with Ricotta Tomato – Mint Coulis which turns out to be a sort of zucchini flower with stuffing prepared as a tempura.  It has a very delicate texture definitely something to write home about.  Then we shared 2 pasta dishes (it is great to get more variety that way).  For the pasta course we shared two great dishes: Ravioli filled with summer procini mushrooms, leeks fondue, porcini coulis & parmiggiano chips and Rosotto with grilled asparagus and fresh summer porcini mushrooms sauce.  Each was delicate, flavorful and fresh in flavor and enjoyable in texture.  The two of us spent $75 including tip and had a delightful mid day respite.
